LiFePO4 RV BATTERY FAQ
Do deep cycle batteries work for RVs?
Do deep cycle batteries work for RVs?
When it comes to RVs, having the right deep cycle batteries for your battery pack is critical. The legendary Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) deep cycle battery will provide the reliable power you need in any condition, it is lightweight and able to fully charge and discharge up to 5000 cycles at DOD80%. At the end of a long road in the middle of nowhere, you will be grateful.
How many deep cycle batteries do I need to power my RV?
How many deep cycle batteries do I need to power my RV?
If you're wondering how much battery your RV needs, you need to consider the length of your trip and consumption patterns. Most RV applications require 12V or 24V current, so you need 12V or 24V batteries, and you can use multiple batteries in parallel to achieve a stable voltage and increase capacity requirements.
Can I use the engine alternator to charge the 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery?
Can I use the engine alternator to charge the 12V 100AH LiFePO4 battery?
If you use the RV's alternator to charge the battery, please install a 30~60A DC-DC power module (output voltage between 14.2~14.4V).
Why Install a DC-DC Power Module?
1. Unstable Alternator Output: The alternator's current varies with engine speed, making it unreliable for direct charging. A DC-DC module ensures stable voltage and current.
2. Overcurrent Risk: High engine speeds can push the alternator's output beyond 100A, exceeding the battery's BMS limit (100A continuous, 300A peak for <5 seconds). Prolonged overcurrent can overheat the BMS, triggering protection and damaging the battery.
3. Voltage Requirement: The LiFePO4 battery requires a charging voltage of 14.2~14.4V. The DC-DC module ensures the correct voltage for safe charging.
Solution: Install a 30~60A DC-DC module (output: 14.2~14.4V) to protect the battery and ensure stable, safe charging.

What kind of battery should I use in my RV?
What kind of battery should I use in my RV?
RVs, campers, and vans have two types of batteries. One is the car/starter battery used to start the engine. The other is a deep cycle battery, also known as a household battery, which is used to power electronic devices. Most RVs, vans & campers are equipped with 12V lead-acid deep cycle batteries because they are cheap, but considering runtime, battery life and safety factor, we recommend lithium iron phosphate deep cycle batteries.
